Reunion on skates...?

I'm loving the updates on the derby dames, but I draw the line at reunions. I think the only way I would go to one would be if everyone had to wear roller skates. Although, I might be tempted to turn it into an ad hoc roller derby...
I participated in my first art show last week. It was an open house at the studio where I work, and about 30 artists were showing their stuff. If was fun and agonizing all at the same time- talk about multitasking. Fun to eat and drink. Agonizing to talk about my work. I wasn't prepared for all the questions people have about inspiration, subject matter, etc. I'll have to work on my elevator speech. Attached are some of my recent paintings.

Jews win!

On Saturday the LA Ri-ettes took on Santa's Lil Helpers - and we edged out a victory. It was a close game but we won by about seven points. I'll leave the re-capping to the pros, but Jessica was able to bring in a camera and took some good video (Thanks again Beth and Rodney for the rad camera!!).

I am not sure how I feel about this picture. I need to work on my "game face" apparently....

Game wrap up here...

Have a Gay Christmas!

Hi all,
Of course I am possibly the most uniformed person in the news world and even more so, since I have only one skewed news source. Usually ole Johnny Stewart asks only a couple real questions to his guests and then keeps it pretty light hearted. This time though, I thought he got to the crux of what many people are thinking. A side note: I would love to blog more but my computer time is about next to Nil. Further more I am techno-dodo so putting up pictures or cool media crap which you obviously need to have in order to blog is out of my capabilities. I would love to show you the x-mas lights on our house and barn or how nice our place looks now... but alas I do not own a camera nor would I know how to put it on; so I must live vicariously thru Jessica and Martin's mad skills. (PS. Emily does know, so bitch slap her to blogging more!) I hope all of you have a wonderful, thankful, giving of love, December season time period thingy.(I don't care for happy holidays much--too pc)Love you all! Ho Ho Ho!!!

Seasons Beatings....

Tomorrow LADD will have our last bout of the season (finally!). The Ri-ettes are skating against a compilation team of flat track skaters from across the country, calling themselves Santa's Little Helpers. Since we would be facing the Christmas team, we decided to be the Hanukkah team - the all-stars are technically the "Chosen One's". Everyone came up with great alternate skate names. I'm Hella Viv, Gori has changed her name to Challaback Girl, Haught Wheels is now Twisted Shiksta, etc. I'm excited for one more game, and then three merciful weeks off!!

Anyway, another game means one thing - another awesome video!!

Tired of looking at Jessica

Basically I get sick of looking at Jessica's posts. We need some fresh blood in this blog. There should be a lot going on with the Holidays and everything. Well my exciting news is that I bought a piano for my house. I got it off a guy on craigslist for $75. A Betsy Ross Spinet uprigt by Lester with a custom chair. Sounds like a steal right. Try moving a 500 pound piano and then you'll realize why people practically give them away. Anyways, I love it and am practicing every day, getting Bach stuck in my head and trying to remember how to read music. It is really invigorating.

10 years later

So Saturday was my 10 year high school reunion. I think we had a really good turn out and it was great to see everyone. Overall people looked a little more mature and very happy. I'm just relieved that some people remembered me.
