Well I served my first jury duty summon today. As you can all imagine Philadelphia is a huge dysfunctional city so the whole process was rather frustrating. After a 6 hour voir dire I was selected answered only about 5 questions in total. Tomorrow I show up for what is supposed to be a four day trial. If your wandering what the case is all I'll hint at is it's criminal and Philadelphia has one of the highest murder rates in the country.

I'm due in court for jury duty on Monday. I seem to get called every other year or so. I usually get some good reading in while sitting in the courthouse waiting for nothing to happen- I've never been assigned to a trial. I must not look objective enough...
I had to do jury duty last year. I got on a dui case. The dude was so guilty that it was a complete waste of time. He was like yes I was there, yes I was completely intoxicated, and I don't have a valid license, thank you for your time.
Jury duty is the best! You get to miss a day of work, finish that book you have been putting off, and get into LACMA for free. Well, that was my experience anyway....I'm totally going to get screwed next time.
